Katherine and Domenic – General Potter Farm Wedding

Katherine and Domenic were married at St. John the Evangelist Church in Bellefonte. The weather was threatening and the bride and groom even brought along red umbrellas, just in case. Luckily it didn’t rain and we got some beautiful photos in Talleyrand Park before heading over to General Potter Farm for the reception. This was our second wedding for the bride’s family that we have had the pleasure to photograph (we photographed her sister Mary’s wedding in 2006). It was a night full of fun, friends and family!

Congratulations Katherine and Domenic!

Aimee and Pat – Nittany Lion Inn Wedding Photography

We met Aimee and Pat at the Nittany Lion Inn for getting ready photos and formals before their wedding. We were even able to get a few photos outside – we were lucky it wasn’t as cold as it could have been! The ceremony in the Alumni Lounge was mostly lit by candlelight – thankfully our cameras can practically see in the dark and we ended up with some very romantic photos and video.  The decor for the reception in the Ballroom was beautifully designed by Daniel Vaughn Designs, and one of our favorite DJs, Jeff Helffrich, kept the night running smoothly, as usual :-) Have you ever seen a garter toss where absolutely no one tries to catch it? If not, check out the video clip in the slideshow below – it’s great!

Congratulations Aimee and Pat – thanks for having us!

Brenda and Chris – Toftrees Wedding Photography

Brenda and Chris were married at Toftrees Resort, a wonderful location for an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. We met them a few hours early so we could photograph the families and wedding party before the ceremony. After they were married, Brenda and Chris changed into traditional Indian clothing. It was a gorgeous day (especially for the middle of November) and we were able to get a few shots in on the golf course before the sun went down. Then it was off to the reception with music by Nittany Entertainment, beautiful decor by Avant Garden, and as always, a delicious and beautiful cake from Delectable Delights by Heather Luse. The party was filled with dancing, and there were even a few tributes to the bride and groom by some younger guests!

Congratulations Brenda and Chris!

Rebecca and Dominic – State College Wedding Photography

Rebecca and Dominic were definitely one of our happiest wedding couples ever! They were married at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and held their reception at The Atherton Hotel. After the ceremony we stopped by The Hintz Alumni Center for some wedding party photos and some shots of the newlyweds. We’ve seen lots of happy brides and grooms, but Rebecca’s smile was nonstop and Dominic was literally jumping for joy – check out the slideshow and video below! Next, it was off to the Atherton for some food and fun, and lots of dancing. We even had the chance to  get a few end of the evening photos outside the Atherton – a great way to end a wonderful day!

Congratulations Rebecca and Dom!

Amy and Marcus – State College and Toftrees Wedding Photography

We had a great time with Amy and Marcus and their families and friends. It was our second wedding for their group of friends, so it was fun to see the whole gang again! Amy and Marcus were married at Pine Hall Lutheran Church, a beautiful church in State College. After an exit to lavender (it smelled great, but it got everywhere!), we loaded into “The Bowen Bus”  and headed onto campus for some photos at the Nittany Lion and PSU campus. Then it was off to Toftrees Resort for the reception, with Nittany Entertainment providing great music, and the wedding cake by Delectable Delights by Heather Luse. The wedding and reception were beautifully decorated by Woodrings Floral Gardens. Amy and her dad did a traditional father/daughter dance before breaking into a “not so traditional” one (see the video slideshow for some great pics!). We took a sunset walk and then it was back to non-stop dancing for the rest of the night. What a great way to end a wonderful day – congratulations Amy and Marcus!

Desiree and Shane – General Potter Farm Wedding

Desiree and Shane were married at The General Potter Farm in Potters Mills. It’s a great location for an outdoor wedding with a reception held inside the beautifully restored 1830′s bank barn. The ceremony had to be moved from down near the stream to higher ground due to recent rainfall. The new location and wonderful weather made it a perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. After the ceremony we even managed to get some photos of Desiree and Shane near the water (we found some dry ground with beautiful fall foliage!). Then it was off to the reception with the floral design done by Emily Rickard of  Pocket Full of Posies and the cake made by Delectable Delights by Heather Luse. The dance floor was full all night and the party was still going strong as we said our goodbyes!

Congratulations Desiree and Shane!  Vicky and Jim

Robin and Charlie – Lake Raystown Resort Wedding Photography

We had an amazing time at Robin and Charlie’s wedding! They were married at the Stone Church of the Brethren and their reception was held at Lake Raystown Resort. After the ceremony we crossed the street to Founders Hall on the campus of Juniata College for family photos and some fun wedding party shots. Then it was off to Raystown for a night of almost non-stop dancing to the sounds of Spectrum, an awesome DC/Maryland area band. The reception decor was designed by Daniel Vaughn Designs (incredible, as usual from Daniel!) and the delicious cakes (3 different kinds!) were made by Delectable Delights by Heather Luse.  The groom and his buddies even serenaded the bride with a rousing rendition of “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” (reminiscent of “Top Gun”, although actually, a bit better!). We managed to pull the bride and groom away from dancing for a few last photos outside on the deck before it was back to the dance floor!

Robin and Charlie, thanks for letting us join in the fun – Congratulations! Vicky and Jim

Lyndsey and Shaun’s Wedding at The McCann School of Art

Lyndsey and Shaun’s wedding was our first at the C. Barton McCann School of Art in Petersburg, PA. It was a perfect late summer day, with the woods and the grounds of the School of Art  making a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony. The entire wedding party went down to the pond for some fun photos on the bridge and some romantic shots of just the newlyweds. Then it was off to the reception under the beautifully decorated pavilion. Highlights of the reception included a “photo booth” complete with hats of various styles (there’s a great shot of Lyndsey and her bridesmaids!) and an amazing dance from Shaun and his groomsmen. It was a great night –  congratulations, Lyndsey and Shaun!

Lauren and John – Toftrees, State College Wedding Photography

Lauren and John were married at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in downtown State College, with Reverend Eric Shafer officiating the ceremony. St. Paul’s is a beautiful church in which to photograph a wedding – natural light, stained glass windows and a wonderful view from the balcony! After the ceremony we headed to the Nittany Lion Shrine and Hintz Alumni Center for some fun shots of the newlyweds and their wedding party. Check out the “peeking” pix below :-) ! Then is was off to the reception at Toftrees Resort, with Toftrees wedding coordinator, Christine Olbrich making sure eveything ran smoothly. There was great entertainment from DJ Jeff Helffrich, a beautiful (and delicious!) cake from Delectable Delights by Heather Luse and Woodrings Floral Gardens did an amazing job with the floral design from ceremony to reception! Thanks for having us as your photographers - Congratulations, Lauren and John!

Gwen and Eric – Penn State Wedding Photography – Nittany Lion Inn

We had a wonderful time at Gwen and Eric’s wedding! We met them both as they were getting ready at the Nittany Lion Inn (I went with the girls, Jim with the guys). The Molly Trolley  provided transportation to the ceremony for Eric and his groomsmen before returning to the Inn for Gwen and her bridesmaids. Then it was off to the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, where Judge David Grine, a close family friend, officiated the ceremony. We took a campus tour to Old Main, Hintz Alumni Center and, of course, the Nittany Lion Shrine :-) before heading back to the Nittany Lion Inn for the reception. The entire wedding from ceremony to reception was beautifully decorated by Avant Garden, providing a romantic atmosphere for the evening. The always entertaining DJ Jeff Helffrich played great music and kept the night running smoothly, as he always does! It was especially fun to see the bride and groom tossed in the air toward the end of the night – check out the photos and slideshow below – they were totally airborne!

Thanks, Gwen and Eric, for letting us be a part of such a great day! Congratulations!!

Rebekah and Ricky’s Wedding – Altoona, PA Wedding Photography

Rebekah and Ricky were married at the First Baptist Church of Altoona, a little travel for us, but we enjoy getting out of town sometimes! We love it when couples exit the church to bubbles – it provides some great photo and video moments (check out the video slideshow below). After the ceremony we took a nice walk through downtown Altoona on the way to the reception. We found a wall with a huge mural and great abandoned lot with an amazing brick wall, which made for some really fun shots! Then it was off to the reception at the Columns, an elegant old building with huge ceilings and an ornate interior. Rebekah and Ricky danced the night away with their friends and family to great music provided by Nittany Entertainment. We were able to sneak outside for some beautiful photos at dusk before the newlyweds made their getaway through sparklers. What a great way to end a wonderful day – congratulations Rebekah and Ricky!

Sarah and Mike : Toftrees Wedding : State College Wedding Photographer

We met Sarah and Mike at Toftrees Resort for “getting ready” coverage, one of our favorite parts of the wedding day. Since there are two of us, we go in two separate directions – Vicky with the girls and Jim with the guys – to capture some wonderful moments before the ceremony. Sarah and Mike were married at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the campus of Penn State University. After an exit to bubbles, we headed over to The Nittany Lion Shrine, Hintz Alumni Center and Old Main for a few romantic photos of the newlyweds and some fun shots with the wedding party – check out the favorites below! Then it was off to Toftrees Resort for the reception, with Nittany Entertainment providing great music, amazing floral design by Avant Gardens, and yellow and blue table decor – so colorful and beautiful! In addition to the wedding cake, Delectable Delights by Heather Luse created individual cakes in a variety of flavors and design as centerpieces for each table. Guests had a great time sampling cakes from other tables and searching for the chocolate cake, which of course, was gone quickly!

What a great way to end a wonderful day – congratulations Sarah and Mike!

Kara and Matt’s Wedding at Penn State and General Potter Farm

We had an amazing time with Kara and Matt and their families and friends! They were married at the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center on the Penn State Campus. It was a true PSU wedding – check out Kara’s blue shoes and Matt’s blue & white socks in the photos below!  There were quite a few tears shed during the ceremony and a very special surprise appearance by Kara’s grandmother (more tears!). We did a campus tour to all of the important spots – The Nittany Lion Shrine, Hintz Alumni Center, Old Main, and the  Penn State sign by  Beaver Stadium – and got some wonderful images! Then it was off to General Potter Farm for the reception,  with beautiful floral design by Avant Garden, cake from Delectable Delights and music from Nittany Entertainment. We love General Potter Farm receptions for the wonderful, warm ambience. The toasts by the maid of honor and best man were two of the most heartfelt we’ve heard (yes, more tears!). The toasts were followed by  the 1st dance and parent dances (and yes, even more tears!!). Kara and Matt, thanks so much for having us as your photographers – we enjoyed every minute! Congratulations and best wishes ~Vicky and Jim

Katie and Corey – Altoona Wedding Photographer

We don’t travel to Altoona often, so Katie and Corey’s wedding was a nice change for us, giving us new locations to shoot in and keeping us on our toes! The ceremony was held at the beautifully ornate Sacred Heart Church. Corey was a wonderfully attentive groom, helping Katie up the steps to the altar when her dress got caught (he gets even better later on in the day!). We got some lovely formal photos – it was definitely a picturesque church! Daniel Vaughn Designs did an amazing job with the floral design at the ceremony and the reception. The material that was wrapped around the stems of  Katie’s bouquet was actually part of her mothers wedding dress – what a great idea! After the ceremony we headed to the same location that Katie’s parents had their wedding photos taken, and Corey again impressed us by helping to bustle Katie’s gown – check out the photo and slideshow below :-) We got a few beautiful photos with the sun peeking through the trees, then it was off to the reception at the Altoona Heritage Discovery Center, another new location for us! After some wonderful toasts by Katie’s dad, the best man and the maid of honor, the night was full of family, friends and dancing.  Thanks for letting us be a part of it – congratulations Katie and Corey!

Courtney and Andy – State College Wedding Photographer

Courtney and Andy’s wedding was a blast! They were married at Grace Lutheran Church in State College, with the reception under the tent at Earlystown Manor. After a beautiful ceremony officiated by Pastor Lynn, – complete with flowers from Woodrings Floral Gardens – we headed over to the Hintz Family Alumni Center for a few shots with the bridal party and the new couple. We even got some great photos of Courtney and Andy with the vintage Crown Victoria they were  riding in – very fun! Then it was off to the reception with cocktail hour music by the Rick Hisch Trio, a delicious cake by Delectable Delights and Nittany Entertainment to keep the dance floor full all night. One of the highlights of the night  was the “Single Ladies” dance by all of the girls in the bridal party – the other was a mini 4th of July celebration, complete with sparklers – check out the slideshow below for some video :-)

Thanks for letting us join in the celebration - Congratulations Courtney and Andy!
